AI Roguelite 2D

Update 03/03/2024: I have resumed working on this game and it's in a much better state than before. However, the Steam version will be updated more regularly than this version, so I recommend getting it there instead.

Introducing AI Roguelite 2D, the world's first fully AI-generated 2D Action RPG!

Input any theme, such as "Star Wars with vampires", and an AI will generate all the lore, items, mobs, crafting recipes, animations, and game mechanics of the universe.

In part inspired by AI Roguelite but very different, this game is more action-focused and less story-focused. We start from a list of implemented attack types, effect types, and damage types. The AI then categorizes each weapon and ability into the most appropriate type(s) based on the lore of the world. 

For example, the AI might determine that a laser blaster is a projectile-firing weapon which causes burn damage.

The AI will also generate a list of crafting recipes consistent with the universe. The ingredients can be looted from enemies or picked up from resource nodes.

Development Status: The current build is in its early stages, but it's playable and is planned to enter Early Access on Steam soon. It is much better than the version that was on here in 2023.

Recently implemented: 3-stage quests, attribute-based AI-generated interaction with objects (including event checks), town, NPCs (which don't do anything useful yet), sublocations in town, better error handling for world generation, boss entity, generating multiple acts, AI-generated sounds.

Some ability mechanics are finished such as: melee, ranged, AOE, AOE projectile, charging attack, burn, bleed, poison, and slow. Others are planned to be completed soon such as: Conical spray, stun, heal, armor, summon entity, set trap, damage type weaknesses/resistances, etc.

There will also most likely be more image/text generation options in the future.

Other goals: More meaningful walls/obstacles/terrain via AI-generated images.
